Family Partner Services

What a Family Partner Does

A Family Partner is a parent or caregiver who has raised a child with mental health, emotional, or behavioral challenges. They’ve been through the system and know how to help other families going through the same thing.

Family Partners provide:

  • Support and encouragement
  • Help navigating services and programs
  • A voice for families in care planning
  • Someone who truly understands what families are going through

Becoming a Family Partner

To be a Certified Family Partner at Coastal Plains Integrated Health, a person must:

  • Complete a 3-day training
  • Pass a certification test
  • Complete 20 hours of additional training every 2 years

Family Partners use their own experiences to support other families, helping them feel heard and included in their child’s care.
