Crisis Services at Coastal Plains Integrated Health

Coastal Plains Integrated Health is here to help if you are having a mental health emergency. We offer crisis services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our trained staff will help you feel safe and calm. We will listen to you and treat you with kindness and respect.

What Is a Psychiatric Crisis?

A psychiatric crisis is when someone is having a very hard time with their mental health. This might include:

  • Thinking about hurting yourself or someone else
  • Feeling like life is too hard to handle
  • Feeling very scared, upset, or worried

Help is available. These services are open to anyone living in our 9-county area.

Inpatient Crisis Stabilization

Sometimes, a person going through a serious mental health crisis may need more help than they can get at home. In these cases, they may stay for a short time at a special hospital that helps with mental health. Coastal Plains works with trusted hospitals in South Texas to give this care.

This kind of help is only used when someone is:

  • In danger of hurting themselves or others
  • Having a serious mental health problem

Our crisis team and mental health experts will talk with the person and their family to find the safest place for care. Our goals are to:

  • Keep everyone safe
  • Use the least amount of hospital care needed
  • Respect the person’s rights
  • Help them feel better and get through the crisis
