You are more likely to encounter someone – a friend, family member, student, neighbor, or member of the community – in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan that identifies signs and symptoms of someone with a mental illness or who is in crisis, and connects them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care.
Topics:
Designed for any person who works with or interacts with adults in their community such as employers, police officers, hospital staff, first responders, higher education and other caring citizens.
Designed for adults who work with young people ages 12-18; such as teachers, coaches, leaders of faith communities, social workers, and other caring citizens.
