Many veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan have a hard time getting used to life outside the military. It can be tough for people who haven’t been in the military to really understand what they’re going through.
That’s why Coastal Plains Community Center offers help from Veteran Peer Service Coordinators, Jaime Cantu and Vincent Klus. Both are veterans who have been through these same struggles. They are trained to help other veterans by listening, giving advice, and sharing their own stories.
We are starting “In the Zone” support groups for veterans in the nine counties served by Coastal Plains. These groups are a safe place where veterans can talk with others who understand what they’ve been through.
The goal is to help veterans:

The Veterans Services and Supports Project helps veterans and their families find services in the community. This can include help with:
We also help connect veterans to bigger groups like:
These groups help veterans get the benefits and support they need.
